Program Facilitator (QLD)
Career Description
As a Program Facilitator for Little Dreamers, you will find yourself delivering workshops around the (Kilcoy/Caboolture/North Lakes areas, working directly with Young Carers and key supporters.
In your role as a casual Facilitator, you’ll focus on delivering tailored Peer Support sessions for Young Carers, creating an environment where they feel comfortable to share and reflect on their experiences, connect with each other, and learn valuable tools to assist in their overall wellbeing.
Core Responsibilities:
Facilitation of Programs
- Delivery of structured support groups for Young Carers, both online and in-person;
- Support in the delivery of day-long activities and overnight retreats during School Holiday periods;
- Provision of guidance to volunteers who will co-facilitate with you;
- Creation of an environment where Young Carers feel comfortable to share and reflect on their
experiences; - Encouragement of Young Carers to seek other supports where appropriate;
- Overseeing of set up and pack-down of venues in line with session plans;
- Distribution of impact measurement surveys for required sessions; and
- Positive engagement with key external and internal stakeholders.
Program Administration
- Completion of attendance data, facilitator feedback and program note-taking, including incident
reporting when required; and - Completion of program training and/or program briefing requirements.
Community Outreach & Engagement
- Identify opportunities for collaboration and partnerships; and
- Represent Little Dreamers in the community.
Key Selection Criteria
1. Facilitation or public speaking experience, ideally working with young people
2. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
3. High levels of awareness and empathy, allowing for effective work with groups of vulnerable young
people
4. The ability to foster and maintain a positive and optimistic outlook
5. Competency in IT (we currently use Google Drive and Zoom)
6. Excellent time management skills
7. The ability to be flexible and prioritise multiple competing tasks
8. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
We’ll be stoked if you also have this experience or knowledge:
1. Understanding of the carer or Young Carer space
2. Direct experience working with vulnerable young people
3. Lived experience as a Young Carer

Classification
Our salaries align to the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Award. In practice, this means that all of our Job Ads will have a salary range and Award alignment and the rest depends on your experience. The casual Program Facilitator (QLD) role aligns with SCHADS Award Level 2.
