Carer Gateway – A national online and phone service that provides practical information and resources to support carers of someone with a disability, chronic illness, dementia, mental illness or who are frail aged. Ph: 1800 422 737 (free call).

Carers NSW – Provides a wide range of information and resources for carers including counselling services and carer support groups across NSW. Ph: 1800 242 636.

Young Carer Hub – A central access point for information and resources to support young carers in NSW.

Young Carer Counselling Line – Emotional support and counselling, information and referral service. Ph: 1800 242 636.

Kids Helpline – Australia’s only free (even from a mobile), confidential 24/7 online and phone counselling service for young people aged 5 to 25. Qualified counsellors at Kids Helpline are available via web chat, phone or email anytime and for any reason. Ph: 1800 551 800.

My Circle – A space where young people can come together to talk about topics such as mental health, bullying, AOD, disability etc. While in a circle, you can ask questions and have supportive conversations with others and learn coping strategies.

Headspace – Headspace is Australia’s National Youth Mental Health Foundation, providing early intervention mental health services to 12-25 year olds. Ph: 1800 650 890.

Youth in Motion – We provide free tutoring to kids struggling with school. We make sure no student in New South Wales is left behind. We teach all subjects at all levels – English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities, Economics, even Drama! Each student is matched with a tutor who gets to know their student’s goals and aspirations through weekly one-on-one online sessions.

As a national, independent charity, every day we work with thousands of children and their families to help them unlock better futures for themselves: art programs, community programs, learning clubs and more.

Wellways – ​​Support for young people in care and those dealing with mental health issues.

Youth Community Living Support Service (Lismore and Newcastle) – We help youth remain connected to the community and engaged in education and employment to minimise the risk of developing chronic disability.

Youth Transitional Care Program (Newcastle) – The Youth Transitional Care Program (YTCP) is a 14 week program for young people aged 12–18 years in the Greater Newcastle area who are having a hard time with their mental health.

Wesley Mission (Newcastle) – Offering a number of programs to help young people across New South Wales stay safe, secure and healthy.

Youth and Family Support –  Support service is available to young people up to 18 years of age and their families in Newcastle who are at risk of vulnerability.

Young Healthy Minds: Based in Newcastle, this program supports children and young people up to 18 years of age who may be at risk of developing mental health challenges.
